Hi! I'm Elyse Thaman. I am a 2D animator, originally from Northern Kentucky. I grew up surrounded by stories, usually around the campfire, or in the kitchen with Grandma, and fell in love with telling them.
As a little girl, every spare second I had was dedicated to writing little stories and doodling the worlds they were part of. Slime monsters, selkies, ghosts, fairies and talking cupcakes lived in the margins of my notebooks.
Animation came to me as a way to bring those worlds and their magic to life, so I went on to study 2D animation at the Savannah College of Art and Design, with a minor in dramatic writing.
It was there that I learned that the magic is more than the characters acting in the story. It's also in the way the world moves around them, and animating background effects quickly became one of my favorite parts of the process.
That snowballed into a deep love for studying the natural world, and then using that to inform the creation of the supernatural. I've always believed fantasy has its footing in reality, and making art is to bridge the gap.

In my spare time, I like to play Dungeons and Dragons, tell ghost stories, write and decorate cakes.
